US government is telling people to disable their Java as there' a security flaw in it which makes it vulnerable to being hacked. Anyone else heard of this?

Last year I seemed to be doing Security updates every month to plug one vunerability after another in Java. During the Christmas break I installed OSX Mountain Lion which does not include Java plugins. So far I haven't needed it so good timing.

Methyl,

Previous versions of OSX automatically install Java. You have to disable it manually to cut your risk. OSX10.8 is the first version not to install Java.
