further to my last question, i have just been into add or remove programs, to try and free up some more space, and there are several programs i don't know what they are,

they are listed as:: windows xp hotfix (sp1) [ see q329390 for more information] they are all different numbers and there are about ten different ones,

when i click remove it says this program removes windows xp q329390 and restores your previous settings, what does this mean, and is it safe to remove it??

Thanks in advance :)

these are patches that (presumably) XP has been downloading for you. dont delete them!!
As f03nix said, dont delete them.Sounds like you have the Windows update set to automatic and every time there is a new patch, you PC automatically downloads and installs them.My PC is set up the same, it just saves time, and stops the annoying 'new updates are ready to install' message appearing.
