i need to buy a mousemat, i know there is lots of info out there, have looked at various websites, however are there differences apart from price.
i have a wireless mouse, and find that it's more moveable, if you understand. There are some cheapish ones on amazon, or should i go for the more expensive types...

Had a trackball for years, no need for mats. In my experience from years ago, they all seemed to work. Find one that appeals to you. Matches your eyes or something.

I've never actually a mousemat

I've always been given them by companies trying to sell me something.

Don't know if there is any scope there for you??
I don't normally use a mouse mat either. (Since the introduction of optical mice, they've not really been necessary). But, if you insist upon using one, then I suggest looking for one which is thick and consequently weighty The cheaper ones (which are generally thin and lightweight) seem to curl slightly which, since the only point of using a mouse mat is to provide a flat surface, rather defeats the object.

I agree with Chris. There are some really pretty ones on amazon but they are small and thin. The problem is, where do you get these nice thick ones from? I've tried loads of shops but unless you're prepared to pay quite a lot ...........
I dont use a mouse mat any more now that ive gone optical, it will apparently even work on glass! I havent yet felt the need to test it though.

A piece of A4 white paper will do the trick.
I don't use one at all. The surface of my desk does a perfectly adequate job. A mousemat would just add to the general mess of paper etc.
Yes Tilly but that's not as pretty as one that matches your eyes!
By the way OG my eyes are brown :-(

A cheap mat is more than adequate. Before the optical mice, a pad was essential but now they are functional to protect the work surface. You'd be surprised how quickly repetitive mouse movement can mar the surface of even quality desktops. .

OG, matches me eyes, that would be bloodshot then, i find that if i play any games on lines, the innocent types before anyone says, like solitaire, the mouse is all over the place. I have looked online and some are cheap as a pound or two. have a laptop so don't actually use a desk, not now..

thanks for the advice, forgot that bit..
I really need to go to specsavers...................I thought for a moment they had been sneaking mousmeat in our burgers too.
Question Author
yes you do..
Question Author
