Do I have to have a internet conection to use a freesat+ box, all I want to do basically is record programmes, I'm not really bothered about going back and finding progs that I've missed. We have a very weak internet signal on this island!

Thank you pinkyboyid, yes we can get many digital progs even with our small dish, but do not want to have to use the internet as it is very bad here, so that is brilliant I can get a freesat+ box and just record things when I am not able to see them (seeing as my box will be in the bedroom!) Another thing, I only have a normal (not lcd or flat screen tv) will it work OK with that? Has a scart plug and aerial and that is all, I can watch Sky on it.
Should not be a problem. If you are currently watching Sky via the SCART Socket and the Freesat+ unit also has a SCART connection it should work ok. Any HD Channels received should still display ok.
I have a SKY HD+ box connected to an older analogue 26" TV and the HD Channels work just fine! In fact the picture display is sharper on the HD channels, but obviously not of the same quality as you would get on a HD screen!
