Xbox 360 Ext Hd Trouble

hi all, i recently purchased a 2tb ext hd, its a seagate. i want to use it with my 360 but it wont recognise the drive. iv formated to fat 32 and still no joy. i have read that the max size xbox360 will recognise is 32gb, however, my mrs has a 360gb ext hd that works perfectly on the 360. can the 2tb drive be partitioned into many 32gb parts or is there anything else you could recommend? thank you all
