Can I Copy A Dvd?

My friend just phoned to ask if she could have a DVD back that I borrowed a few weeks ago as someone else wants to borrow it.
I just haven't got around to watching it although I would like too at some point.
Is there anyway I can copy the DVD onto my computer and then copy onto a blank DVD?

most dvds now have the digital ultraviolet option, you can copy it to your laptop or pc, up to 5 copies can be made actually, have a look on the back cover, it wil tell you there.

once you have bought an ultraviolet DVD you can copy it 5 times and send copies to 5 friends and keep the copy for yourself

read the link i have put up, film companies and distributors are addressing the pirate dvd issue by allowing digital copies, quite legal

I did actually read the link DJHAWKES. UltraVoilet is different to what the first answer advised mrssPrim to do, which is what I was responding to. If this particular dvd does include an UltraVoilet copy then there will be a paper insert inside the dvd case detailing the copy information and unique authentication code - which will be invalid if not used before the expiration date.

the expiry dates are generous, the stock at work with ultraviolet included can be on the shelves for months before they sell or are recalled.

It still doesn't mean that the poster could make a copy of it onto a blank dvd though.

Anyway I've got the DVD here in front of me and it's called The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and on the back is a red circle with a line through it and it says This disc is copy protected, so I guess that answers my question does it?
How is it technically possible OG?

it would have a violet coloured band across the back cover and a leaflet inside with the passcode for the online download. it's only a year or so old , maybe less, but if it's not ultraviolet you'd struggle to copy it i think.
