Ipad Problem

I receive emails ok but they keep disappearing, they stay for a while then just go, only the in box, sent and trash are ok. What can I do? Anyone any idea?

Is this still a problem? what have you tried so far?

I haven't done anything apart from go through settings to see if anything stands out, nothing does. I have ordered the book iPad for dummies to see if it can help, but I am running out of patience with the defatted thing.

What setting do you have for your inbox to display emails? You can chose from 50 upwards. It may be you have it set for the lowest amount and if this is the case they will disappear once you reach the set amount. Just go into settings and change the figure upwards. Hope this helps.

I have it set on 100. Sometimes they vanish when there are 2 sometimes when there are 10.

Have you setup the email as imap or pop?

If it's imap and you have another computer accings the email, it may be that the settings on the other computer are wiping the mail from the server.

Imap mail is kept on the mail servers. Pop mail is downloaded to your ipad or computer.

Let us know what email you have eg. yahoo, gmail etc. It might help ABrs help you

The main PCM has Microsoft outlook and its pop3 .

Right, if you have the ipad set for imap, then you are viewing the emails on the server.

Wit the computer set for pop access, when it checks the email it will download the email AND remove it from the server.

You can change the settings on the computer so that it downloads the emails, but also leaves the messages on the server. Then you can delete the emails from the server using the ipad.

Tuvok, when I first had the iPad ( Christmas) it worked perfectly, no disappearing emails at all. Only problem was, delete box didn't empty at all, I had every email I had received in there, if I deleted them from trash they came back. I researched settings and found a way to do this by making delete box empty after one day. The disappearing started about a week or so ago.
I am not technically minded, so I get confused when you talk about server and computer. The emails appear on both PC and I pad. Before if I deleted them on ipad they didn't delete on main pc. Do you reckon I need someone to come and sort me out.
