Uniblue Program - Can't Get Rid

I downloaded this program because I thought it was free. I decided I didn't want it and so I uninstallled it via my Control Panel.

However, everytime I start my laptop in the morning, the Uniblue logo comes up and then 2 more screens asking me to Register.

How do I totally delete this? Thanks

Copied from someone's suggestion on a tech forum:
"If you delete the Uniblue folder at C:\Program Files\Uniblue, it should be gone.
You can go to regedit and delete the registry key
Click start/ run/ type> regedit
Find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Uniblue
Right click the Uniblue reg folder and delete.

To just stop it from loading at startup, Click start/ run/ type> msconfig
Under the Startup tab, uncheck Uniblue or Registry Booster".

Surprised it didn't uninstall properly anyway. Maybe you could reinstall and then uninstall it again ?

Try googling a program called Revo uninstaller. That should delete the program and all of the registry files associated with it.

You can't uninstall running programs. Many of Uniblue's processes run 'in the background'. Kill all of the processes listed in the link and then try uninstalling again:

If you decide to fsimply ollow the route suggested in AP's second paragraph you should then restart your computer. You'll see a message telling you that you're using Selective Startup. Tick the option 'Don't show this message again'.

I too downloaded Uniblue some time ago, it was free at first, but when they asked for some money, I attempted to try to uninstall it, like chrissa1, it still comes up, and I still use it, but I never sent them any money, and that is about 12 months ago.

Assuming that the references above to Uniblue refer to the registry cleaner, the usual advice from AB's acknowledged technical experts (such as ChuckFickens) is to avoid ALL registry cleaners, as they can do more harm than good.

However some reputable sources do recommend using CCleaner (which is genuinely free) if you really think that you need to use such a product. (I sometimes buy old desktops, for £20 or less, from auctions. They're usually full of all sorts of junk and I like to use CCleaner, on a 'one-off' basis, to tidy things up).

Denis567,you say you still use it but it's surely done its "work for free", ie the work it does to "hook you in" so to speak.
I would have thought that you're just getting the same scan over and over. You would have to pay for it to do anything meaningful.
