What would the life span be regards this batter? the Notebook has not been used that much, very little in fact in 3 years. tia

I would think it depends on the way the battery has been used.

I'm guessing it's a lithium-ion?
Normally expect about 2 yrs now as they're rubbish,
If you haven't used it that much it won't have helped.
Sure the battery is duff and not another issue. What exactly is your fault?
There is a hard-fix issue with similiar machines. Maybe the same here?
Remove the power & battery. Hold the power on button for 20 seconds (discharges capacitors internally). Reapply power & battery. Hopefully that will help?

Sorry for the late replies, the Notebook was not used for the time stated, only just started to use it & the battery looses it's charge very quick, I have altered the setting, still as bad, I could use it on power lead on but I think it's a battery change.
