Digital Tv Recorders

This may have been answered before--but I can't see it.
Is it possible to buy a digital tv recorder (like sagemcom RTi500?) that allows you to record program A while watching program B? I use the BBC free sat. I do not wish to involve the computer.

Yes, most allow you to record two channels and either watch a third or watch a previous recording.

Make sure it is a "twin tuner". This function allows you to watch and record different programmes at the same time :)

The Sagemcom is a FREEVIEW box, but you say you use Freesat.

You need a Freesat box with twin tuners and digital record facilities.
