Round And Round Thing In Word 2010

My WORD application has got this really annoying ... "thing"

It runs really slowly ... like REALLY! slowly ...

And, in place of the cursor, is that little thing that goes round and round ... and round and round and round ... like when the lappy is not responding.

I've tried rebooting, and I've run CCleaner.

I've restarted WORD a few times.

Any ideas?

The device in question is an Asus netbook, with Windows 7, and Word 2010.

Do other programs also run slow or is it just word?

- Check the space available on the Hard Drive to make sure it is not full.

- You could try creating another Windows user Logon account and then logon with that new account and see if Word runs any better.

- Try rebooting into 'Safe Mode' by repeatedly pressing the F8 key during the power-on sequence. Then select Safe Mode and test if Word runs any better or not.

- Another option if the problem persists is to attempt a repair of Word / Office. Goto 'Windows Start>Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall a Program'.
Then locate and Highlight 'Microsoft Office' in the list and from the options menu above select the option 'Change' . This will then invoke the Office Installation where you can further select 'Repair'. Note that you may require the original Microsoft Office Installation Disk in order to carry out the rpair operation.

Only seems to be Word that's affected.
