He is organising his April holiday with the MG club for two weeks in France.
They need an hotel in Dover the night before the ferry. He searched on google for hotels in Dover , he chose the cheapest (as usual), two days later, tonight, someone informs him the hotel is in Dover USA and its non cancellable. Who ended up phoning USA and pleading with someone to refund the booking? Me!!
I did a good job, they will refund!!! He's not fit to be let loose on his own!

Nothing like a long run in a classic car......

Things always happen to him, never sure about letting out on his own, dread to think what will happen to him, but he reckons he is ok to go so I will sit and wait to see what befalls him this time.
good luck with that one then, caran !! as you say, he's not going alone so his mates will know if he's missing ... lol !!

I know I shouldn't worry, he does this every year, but the cock ups before he goes have. To be seen to believed, he is really accident prone.
Some years ago, Caran, a friend of mine went on a course to Portsmouth and arranged for his wife to drive down and collect him at the end of the week.
She arrived late having driven half way way to Plymouth before realising her mistake.
Well done on your negotiating skills.

Thanks Parkie
thinking about it, caran - at least he attempts to organise things for himself, which is more than I can say for mine .... suddenly it can only be done by computer and I am the only one who can work 'that thing' - well it keeps us on our toes, doesn't it !! xx
caran pls keep the A/B informed of their whole trip, you must dread the phone ringing and supposedly he expects you to sort it from home ?
Mine used to be like that, took his mother who was visiting to London by bus so she could see more , the second bus I had told him did not have the destination on the front that he wanted [ they had changed the route] instead of asking the next bus driver he rang me at home and I had to sort it out whilst they waited at the bus stop.
Caran that is so funny although it must be worrying for you.
Please keep us up to date with his exploits
I think I'd alert interpol just before he leaves!!!!!
Oh Caran :))))))))))))))

You only do it to get control of the remote - be honest LOL

hi, caran....is there an mg branch near where you are? i only ask as my dad has a 1940s mg which is his pride and joy and he needs something to do in his spare time (as he is giving up his skittles!). mtia x
This reminds me of the time we were expecting a visitor and he rang to say he couldn't find our street....or any notable landmarks like the sea.
We live in Whitby on the east coast. He had driven to Whitby near Liverpool.
I own up to being the worst organiser I know, I honestly couldn't organise an orgy in a brothel. :-(

Icg his mg club is an on line forum group. The-T-Bar.com. He uses another one too but I can't remember the name and he is having his usual evening nap!
This lot have a lot of rallies/meetings lcg - I used to be a member when I had a midget.

If you're still seeking accommodation in Dover (UK!) I can thoroughly recommend this place:

(I stayed there several times last year).
Question Author
Yes cHris he belongs to that one also, and mg rover.org as well as something like f register. Thanks for the recommended guesthouse, he booked a hotel this afternoon, I will bear that one in mind for future trips.
I am pleased to read that OH has a future, Caran ;)
