Phone Doesnt Receive Messages

Wondered if someone on here might be able to help, I had an iPhone 4 which is still in my possession but I'm planning on getting rid of. I have a Nokia lumia now which I transferred my sim into. So technically the messages I received from people in my old iPhone 4 I should receive on my lumia.??

That hasn't been the case as when my wife ( who has an iPhone 4s) tries to message me it still goes to the iPhone..........even though my sim is in the lumia. When she rings me it actually rings out on the lumia but just doesn't receive messages from her.

I'm baffled by it.
She's actually texting my normal phone number and not my email address too so it can't be that.

Any ideas

I suspect its a function of the imessage

Your number is registered with apple and texts are being seamlessly converted to imessages for you. It will presumably go back to normal once you inform your provider? Maybe
