Not sure this in the right section but here goes anyway! I recently bought an iPod mini and the instruction booklet says that when fully charged it should have a play time of approximately 18 hours. Well I've charged it a few times now until it says it is full charged (leaving it plugged in for at least 5 hours) but the battery life seems to running out after about 6 hours. Does anyone know if there is a way of making the battery last longer or charging it more comprehensively? Thanks.
Other things that will make a difference (all be it slight) are using the random play function as this means constantly accessing the memory rather than caching the tunes in advance; and using the EQ settings such as bass boost. - These things don't have a huge effect but they add up when combined with the backlight etc.
Did you buy it from Apple directly? If not, you may have been sold the previous edition that only had an 8 hour battery life. The new ones are marketed at 18 hours, but even if exaggerated you should get at least 10 hours if it is the real deal.
the figure refers to the ipod playing continusaly with a medium volume setting and not being interfeared with, by scrolling about and changing songs you use power.
