Dektop Gadgets

I am running W7 & from the gadgets on offer I have put a clock & a calendar on my desktop. The problem is they are both rather large in size in comparison to the rest of the icons on the desktop & I cannot figure how to reduce them, please can anyone help ? TIA.

- Right-click on any blank area of your desktop.
- Place your mouse cursor over "View."
- Click "Classic Icons" to set your icons to the smallest available size.

Unfortunately, Ron, that only alters the size of the other ordinary icons.
The gadgets are pre-sized by their coding I think. It wouldn't be an easy job to alter them

Sidebar gadgets? Some are re-sizable, hover your mouse over the right hand edge to check the options. If you cannot get them to the size you want, then you will have to look for a smaller gadget.

... the simplest answer would be to get a little clock and a calendar from the pound shop.

All the gadgets fit the width of the side bar. So whatever size gadget
you may find on the web it will still be big . If you could reduce the sidebar width that would solve the problem, but I don't know how. Ask MS.

Here is one suggestion on Google

//Right click the gadget Sidebar area and click on Help. According to MS, the
width of the gadget sidebar is fixed. Also, the sizes of the gadgets can not
be adjusted in the Sidebar, but if you drag (Move) some of the gadgets from
the Sidebar onto a different area of the Desktop, some of the gadgets will
display larger./

I've just tried it but they become bigger and are not adjustable.
Someone wrote that they could adjust the gadget size in their ipad but not on their desktop.

Microsoft have abandoned the side bar gadgets because of a serious security breach and do not recommend them
