I put (say) "a" into Google address line and up come lots of addresses beginning with "a".. Is there any way of getting rid of a lot of them? Thanks in advance, John.
I assume that you're using web-based access to Gmail, rather than using an email client (such as Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail). If so, those email addresses are being generated by your browser, not by the website which you're viewing.
Isn't this a function of Gmail and not the browser? Once you start typing Gmail goes to your contacts and pulls up contacts that start with that letter. Go to contacts and delete unwanted contacts. Clearing your cache will only force to you to log back into Gmail where the problem still awaits.
I initially read the query as typing into the Google search box, but having reread it I think it is about Gmail, so I agree with drb- just clear out your contacts list. (You must have a lot of contacts, by the way)
