Hi folks,

I am at my wits end. I have had behavioural issues with my daughter since she was 2 yrs old, she's now 16. Through the years she has been physically, verbally & emotionally abusive towards me. On the 15th Feb this year, after a week of abusive emails from her I finally snapped and confronted her at my father's house, which led to a hostile argument and I pulled her hair. Next thing I know, I have the police at my house, I stupidly told them I pulled her hair and they arrested me for it and I spent 12 hrs in a police cell. Traumatised doesn't even begin to cover it. The police were great with me. However, I had to appear at the local sherrif court and I was all set to plead guilty to the pulling of the hair, only to find out, that day that she told the police that I repeatedly punched her in the face and head, threw her on the kitchen floor and then repeatedly kicked her in the ribs and my FATHER collaborated this! You can only imagine my utter SHOCK, so I had to change my plea to not guilty.

There is now a trial set for Sept this year. The official police report states that there was not a SINGLE mark on her, she was not hysterical but very direct with them and she refused to go to hospital for an examination. How can the PF do this too me!?! I am seriously having a breakdown with this. Not only that, her dad sent me a text last week saying that she contacted the PF to see how she can get these charges dropped and they told her to write them a letter, now she is blackmailing me by telling me she will only do it IF I let her see her little brother. I cant allow that. She told my son she was going to make sure I ended up in jail! He is also traumatised and he is my only witness to what actually happened.

Whats going to happen too me?? I have NEVER been in trouble with the law in my entire life. Both my daughter & my father blatantly lied. This has turned my whole life upside down. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :(

Hi- Please can you clarify what the PF is? I think you are in Scotland - is it like the CPS?
Do you have a legal representative in this matter?

Yes, Im in Scotland, PF= Procurator Fiscal, I assume that's the same as the CPS
Does your daughter live with her father?
"I have had behavioural issues with my daughter since she was 2 yrs old,"

since she was 2 yrs old???

How old were you when you had her?
Question Author
Snowball, she lives with my father. My mum passed away last july unfortunately.
Question Author
Society, I was 21 when I had her. What has that got to do with what age I am??
Does your father have the same problems with your daughter that you have?

Can I also point out, that since the hearing on 15th March, I have had to file reports to the police about her still sending me abusive emails & texts. I obviously haven't responded to any of them. I'm at the point where Im scared to leave my house as I don't know what's she's going to do next.

Snowball,

My daughter is very astute and knows who NOT to be verbally abusive too. She's fine with me when she gets her own way but its always been the minute I say "No" etc its world war 3. My father has witnessed her in action over the years, so inrelation to your question, yes, he knows exactly what she is like.
Im just wondering why your father is lying to the police about what happened. Have you tried to talk to him?
Question Author
Snowball, that's a separate issue. I know why and its over my mum's death.
Since your daughter is so fond of blackmail, I suggest that she has seduced your father and is now using that to get him to dance to her tune. You need a very good barrister.
Oh right, ok.
Well if she doesnt have a single mark on her then that doesnt tally with her story does it. Your father especially will be in serious trouble if it is found that he made such a false statement, maybe telling him that will shock him into retracting what he said.
Btw just wanted to say that I'm sorry you are having such a rough time.
keep all e mails, txts if they are proof of verbal abuse. don't delete or get rid of anything, first rule of thumb when in a situation where there is a dispute as to who said what.
Agree with smow..police statements will not record any signs of physical assault...she refused hospital ..and combined with your factual evidence of abusive threatening blackmailing texts and letter etc...the tables will turn and she and your father will be for the high jump...keep all incriminating texts etc...and keep reporting as and when you receive any threats or harassment.
Yep em is right, and dont respond!
It would be very tempting to email your daughter and ask her why she lied, to see if she was daft enough to reply to you but dont think that would help really.
