My old Nokia seems to have gone 'feral' on me and I've no idea why - when I try to text message everything comes underlined and with crazy spelling - Any ideas would be very welcome, thanks

if you have accidentally turned predictive text on, you need to long press the # button while you are in a message

Has the language option been accidentally change to Outer Mongolian or something ?
Question Author
Quite possibly, OG - any thoughts on how to turn it back ?
Just to look at whatever menus it has, maybe for a settings menu, or better yet a text settings menu, look for a language option. If you have a user guide for the phone, or can Google one, that'd help.

It's probably too old to have a language option, but I'll have a trawl thru google to see what I can find, thanks OG
I could be wrong but I figure if the handset was sold throughout, say, the EU, and it has a predictive text feature, then it surely would have an ability to set it to any of the languages used in the EU, regardless how old the model is.

It's possible the Nokia website might have something.
It might be that you have switched the predictive text on

Ah ! I had assumed you normally had predictive text on and didn't know why it was suddenly coming up with crazy spelling :-)
Question Author
Didn't know I had predictive text, OG, it came as a complete surprise, but thanks for your help
