A posting on UKFreegle offered a Pentax P30 camera and 3 lenses, filters, and other bits of photographic equipment. Have digital cameras killed off amateur interest in film cameras?

'Fraid so sandy, I've just given a Nikkormat FT3, an Cannon EOS 1000 and a mix of lenses to one of my nieces Uni lectures, who uses a lot of 35mm stuff for various courses, at least that way they'll get some good use out of them. Top quality gear and nobody wants it.
I'd echo that here in the U.S. I've a Canon EOS Rebel w/ 3 lenses and an electronic shutter release with a super nice canvas, leather trimmed Canon case. No one want it, even though the lenses will work on a Canon T3i DSLR... Go figure...
I've just gone Digital with a Cannon EOS 650D and luckily I had three lenses which were compatible. I'd hoped I could have got a deal but the offer they made was derisory. We'd arranged to meet the niece for a drink and a meal and when I mentioned this she phoned this guy up and he came down from the Uni and took it away for the cost of a meal for two and a couple of drinks. He told us he uses it in his media courses as he firmly believes you'll never be any good at anything unless you know the basics and I get the satisfaction in knowing it's going to be used and not just scrapped
