No Dial Tone.

I've lost the dial tone from my phone, yet wifi still works. I've connected a different phone directly to the phone socket (removing the dsl filter) yet still no joy. Any ideas ABers? Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem last year. (No dial tone but normal internet access). I called BT on 0800 800 151 (using my mobile, of course!) and they checked the line straight away, confirming that there was a fault at the exchange. It was fixed very quickly (with the engineer texting me to say when he'd arrived at the exchange and then again when he'd cleared the fault).

Thanks Chris. I'm with TalkTalk and I'm leaving them on 26 April as I'm emigrating. I don't hold out much hope that they'll bust a gut to fix it!

And TalkTalk use an 0871 number....pricey on a mobile.
