Ipad Cables

I play my ipod through a Sony dock with speakers. Are there any cables on the market that would allow me to connect the IPad to a docking station.
I believe the connections would have to be male one end and female the other.

You can get cables for the job in most large supermarkets in tv/audio sections....even our local BMs and bargain stores sell them.
