Cd To Ipod

Iam trying to transfer my cd,s to my ipod. Have downloaded cd ok but I am now supposed to have a box on the left showing my ipod. This box is not there, any ideas why please?

We might need a bit more information but assuming your using iTunes you may need to go to the view menu and select show sidebar. When you iPod is connected it should show in the sidebar. You then need to click on the ipod and go to the tab for music. Choose either entire music collection or selected playlist and albums and a screen will appear showing what you have access to and allowing you to choose what you want to sync.

Sorry but cant find anywhere to click on show sidebar, where will I find view menu? Please excuse ignorance.

you could always look on youtube for help, with video rather than written word.
