Website Access
3 Answers
I am a member of a committee of an organisation that has its own website. Our web designer has now left us and I reluctantly took over the responsibility of the site at which I am a novice. We use M24/7 where everything is hosted. I have been given usernames, passwords, domain Id's, but I do not know how to access this site to enable amendments to be made. Do I need any other equipment, downloads etc. Would be gratful on any assistance that will help me accessing the site and making amendments. Thanks in advance

Blimey, that's a tall order. Presumably you have some software fro writing or generating HTML and CSS for the site.
You'll probably also need an FTP client to allow you to download the original site and upload any changes.
There are free clients available but my favourite is CuteFTP. http:// www.cut eftp.co m/

Hi Cas
Do not despair. This is what I recommend you do.
Go to www.weebly.com
Make yourself an account. You will see its dead easy to make web pages with weebly.
Go to your existing website and use copy / paste as much as possible and in this way make your web pages on weebly.
when you are staisfied with the result you've got on weebly, 'publish' the siet (it's a button)
Then contact M24/7 and ask them to change the DNS to point at your weebly site - this sounds difficult but is not.
It is no longer necessary to get complex software to make good websites, so panic ye not and keep in touch for help.
