Importing+Playing Audio Cd...aarrgghhh

when I put in an audio cd into iTunes to import onto my playlist there could be 20 tracks on the cd but as it starts to import it stops on track 15 and that is it,you can hear the cd rom and it sounds as if it were stuck and will not import any more...
and when I take out the audio cd and play it on windows media player it will only play up to track 15 and wont go any further.
this happens on most cd`s over 13-15 tracks on it.
