Could someone tell me why the cursar on our laptop will start to veer to the left and gradually get harder and harder to pull over?  It is particularly bad when more than one window is open but it does it when only one is open too.  Sometimes it will be impossible to move from the top right hand corner and you let it be for a minute or so then it's ok again for awhile. Any answers need to be in simple speak as I'm not particularly computer savvy but can usually work most things out.  Thanks in advance.

Make sure the laptop is level .... just kidding.

There was a thread some time ago - may be of some help.

Thanks Sligachan14.  The only thing that might be of use is the bit about the cpu but I don't know where to find the taskmanager.  Our computer doesn't have a mousepad only a nipple.
Right click on the task bar at the bottom of your screen and select Task Manager.

Thanks.  Found that but don't really know what to do with it.  I had two word documents open and 3 internet windows open and connected to the net and it said usuage between 7 and 30%.

What kind of computer is it and does it have a touchpad rather than a nipple mouse? If so, try Start -> Control Panel -> Mouse and adjust the settings.

It's an IBM ThinkPad and it doesn't have a touchpad.  I have adjusted the mouse sensitivity to no avail.  I's a mystery!
