A friend logged onto facebook from this computer and now his email address and password are always in the sign in page and it doesn't recognise ours.

This is on firefox.

I have unticked the 'keep me logged in' box. All I have to do is log out and his address instantly appears. It's doing my nut in!

Thanks...

I've deleted all cookies and it's still there.

Worked for answerbank though!!
Tools > Options > Privacy > Clear all current history.

Ensure that there's a tick against 'Form & search history'. (Select or de-select other options as required). Click 'Clear now'.
Question Author
It only says 'clear all recent history' I clicked that and checked the box 'form search & history' and it's still there.

What if I uninstall FF and reinstall it?
I'm really, really confused now!

You could try uninstalling and then reinstalling but that seems to be a bit drastic to me. If you choose to do so, remember to back-up your bookmarks to an HTML file first:

You might care to try Free Internet Window Washer first:

Excuse me butting in but when you untick the keep me logged in box you should the be able to type your own details in from the same screen. it's on the extreme top right. Are you saying you can't do this?
Question Author
I can type my email address in okay but everytime I log out his email address and password appear. Even after I've put my details in and clicked 'remember me'
Question Author
Thanks Chris. I have no important bookmarks so will I just uninstall?
It may have been chrome my dad was using but the same thing happened with all of his log ins. He'd always sign out but his username and password would still appear already when he went back to the page.

I had to delve around the browser settings and there was a random option I unticked which fixed it.
Question Author
I wouldn't mind it it was my username/password.
Uninstalling and reinstalling should be OK but you might first want to try simply 'resetting' Firefox back to its original state:

Help > Troubleshooting Information > Reset Firefox (it's at the top right of the page).
Question Author
I'm about to give up. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and his email is still there. I've cleared all history, cookies, cache...

And now I can't find the 'help/troubleshooting' :-(
Question Author
Found it, reset it...it's still bloody there!!
Do you have FF set up to remember passwords? If you do then delete his details.
Question Author
I've deleted everything. I did as Chris suggested and reset FireFox and it was still there.

I've unistalled it again but too scared to reinstall in case it causes me to smash up the computer.
i had a bit of this trouble when young g/son used my p.c.
Drove me nuts, and wont let them do it again. Done my head in too x
Try signing in thru a different path ie via answerbank FB or google whichever is not your usual. When you have a 'clean' sign in, delete your original & reinstall FB
Tools/Options/Security
Uncheck "Remember Passwords for sites"

Thanks all.
