Good luck. In their never ending quest of multinational greed, Sony have made it very difficult to region-free most of their DVD players. It's a con, everyone has the right to watch a DVD that they paid for on any machine IMO.
As far as I know, you can`t make Sony DVD players multi-regional. You can do it with other brands but not them. You have to take it to a Sony shop and get it chipped.
Thank you. We have tried playing Region 1 DVD and it give a screen message "Playback prohitited by area limitations". I intend to return the DVD player and would not recommend anyone buying this model from Sony as it is intended to be multi-region but clearly is not.
