I'm trying to connect my laptop to my tv. I have a Dell with a tv output which I am connecting via an adaptor and a yellow RCA type connector to my tv. I can see my desktop on my tv and can even view movies but there is no colour showing on the tv picture - it's all black and white. Can you help? I've played with the settings on the display adaptor as much as i dare with no effect. Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the TV-out settings may be set to NTSC instead of PAL-I.

Thanks Kempie but still no colour.

I have tried all the Pal settings including Pal-I and all I still get is B&W.

Any other ideas?

Perhaps a chromatic (or chroma) setting? Or not if you have played about with evrything on offer.

Which model is the adaptor?

Are you using an SVideo cable out of the card into the adapter which then has the Composite (RCA) into the TV?

is it a pal film you're trying to see? i.e. not an american issue.
