I recently done something to my p.. and when I now open My Computer, a blue "System Tasks" pane appears on the left hand side of the screen.
Does anybody know how to get rid of this "Systems Tasks" blue pane ?

You've got me confused!

When you go to 'My Computer' there is meant to be a panel down the left-hand side, with three sections labelled 'System Tasks', 'Other Places' and 'Details'. You can toggle the display of their content by clicking on the double arrowheads alongside each title but I'm unaware of any way of actually getting rid of the panel itself.
I'm not sure why you're confused, Buenchico! Many people have that disabled for space reasons, although I'm sure it's handy for some people.

To get rid of it, you need to go into the Tools > Folder Options. On the general tab, just select the "Use Windows classic folders" and it will be gone.
