Codecs!!

I am trying to add subtitles to videos using windows movie maker. Moviemaker is saying the video needs a codec! I have ticked the codec in option and restarted my computer but it still says the same!! Anyone any ideas folks. Thanks in advance.

Does it say which codec ? You may have to download the specific one it needs.

You could download and install the K-Lite codec pack - that contains the codecs for most things. http://www.filehippo.com/download_klite_codec_pack/ is the link to get it from Filehippo
