What is the message you get for the failure of Malwarebytes Free to instal and have you tried using 'safe mode'? Whats the message for unable to use system restore?
Unless you get accurate with supplying info to us we would be unable to assist you. We are all just guessing from your replies.

I think you are probably looking at a total re-install of Windows to be honest. Only sure way of fixing your PC. Ask a local pc specialist to do it for you. Get them to backup your Documents/Music/Photo's.

Keep your answers to one thread, this one is spread over three threads and makes it difficult to understand.

For what it's worth, the lesson to learn here is that Computer viruses, Antivirus software and Malware Bytes all use special "at boot-time" installation techniques which make sure that they are launched in system memory even before Windoze gets properly up and running. A virus will do its damnedest to detect and prevent attempts to install AV or anti-malware program by the user.

Equally, It is perfectly feasible that A V G is conflicting with Malware bytes, even to the extent of identifying it as harmful software. I can only advise that you consult the websites of both companies for advice about resolving this.

Malwarebytes Free only runs on demand. It's only the paid for version that can be set to run at boot up.
I wasn't aware of that. Thanks.

Another Thread on the Same Problems. Count me out...you have confused me.

I think most malware is free. At least in the first instance :-)

sorry alston that was rash of me to say that, i did download one of your links and it gave me delta toolbar which i cannot now remove. slice alice thankyou for your advice but when i try system restore it will only let me go back to say 3 weeks ago when my pc started playing up. it will not let me restore to say 8 weeks ago. i cannot do restore to factory settings or i will lose all my itunes songs and my family pics. it will not let me install any malwarebytes at all ...annoying stuff
beezaneez.....No way did I give you a link which would have installed the Delta Toolbar which is now causing you problems. However, I recall you having said in a previous thread that, (for some unknown reason) you had downloaded a 'paid for programme' from a site called 'microsoft.pc repair.(Wed 14th Aug:)

I think I know exactly the site you visited and under No circumstances would I have recommended it, because I am aware that it is listed by WOT (Web of Trust) as one having a poor reputation.

ok alston , im sorry, my fault for clicking on wrong link.
beezaneez.......Thanks for your response. What more can I say, except perhaps that we all make errors...... I am still thinking hard of some way to help you, but it does look as if you may have to take your computer to a local expert to sort-out matters.

Incidentally, what computer do you have, and (as originally requested by methyl) what is the operating system....Windows XP; Vista; W7 or whatever...........The more information you give us the better it is to appreciate the position which prevails.

im using windows vista home premium
Thanks beezaneez for your latest posting. I am at present posting on a desktop comp which is loaded with Vista; so I should know something about the operating system which you have.

However, bearing in mind methyl's first posting in this thread, I request that you now nominate which of your numerous threads you wish to use for continuance of discussions. Perhaps then you will post a suitable comment in all other threads to indicate where you wish replies to be given.
