Is anyone else experiencing a problem with Google?  I type in the web adress, hit return,  and get a window about bargain flights.  Have rebooted my computer since last night and it is still happening.  Yet if I go into web history for a previous Google search I have no problems.

no, no problems. this would never happen anyway with a site as large and popular as google's.

try looking in your HOSTS file:

Windows XP = C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Windows 2K = C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ETC
Win 98\ME = C:\WINDOWS

see if it links google.com to the site that is loading up..
Check for spyware. Try and download Spybot search and destroy or Adaware personal.

ive had this before.each time i visited google i got an alternative page,so i got the ip address from another pc,typed that in and it worked

try manually typing this into address bar(its for google.co.uk) - 216.239.57.104

HAve done all the above even the suggestion by the techies at AOL and I am still been diverted to the other web page.  Typing the address is OK but as soon as I try and type in google again off I go on my flight page.

Is it only happening with goolge? To me it sounds as though your browser has been hijacked.Try downloading a program called 'Hijackthis http://www.download.com/3120-20_4-0.html?qt=hijack&tg=dl-20 .

Don't know what I've done - probably a combination of all the above, but the problem is now resolved.  Many thanks for all the suggestions.
