Emergencies - Are You Prepared?
7 Answers
If you were, say, at the scene of an accident, do you have any first aid skills which would help you to help others.
I've been thinking about this lately after a few recent incidents, one where I saw a cyclist hit by a car and another today when a man collapsed on the bus.
I did a lot of first aid training when I was younger and picked up other skills from voluntary work I did but I could do with a refresher but I do feel restricted now by mobility (or lack of) issues though I helped at both incidents.
I wondered how able to help with things like incident control or first aid others would be.

Germany with HM Forces, where such a kit was a legal requirement, as it pretty much is everywhere in mainland Europe.
I've also got a high-viz jacket in the boot that was surplus when I was a Special Constable.
Thus far, I've not needed to use any of them, thankfully.

I wish it were a requirement here ChillDoubt, save with high vis and something like a foldable stand with a reflective light on to assist in alerting traffic to an incident. I know cars have hazard lights but it can be placed further up a road to alert to an oncoming hazard earlier, especially somewhere where the hazard isn't clear.
First aid training at school would be a great idea too.
