error code help

hi all,

can anyone tell me what this means?

errorcode 1000000a,parameter 1 f0c17ffc,parameter2 00000002, etc etc

if you need more info let me know

what happened though is that my partner bought me a laptop/notebook and it bluescreened

when i turned it back on it came up with 'the recovered from a serious error' and this error code stuff

the shop where he bought it is now insisting its my fault it bluescreened and we must pay �35 for repairor put up with it

they are (i think) memory locations. sounds like there are conflicts somewhere on the system.

has it always done this, or is it only since you've installed something, like upgrading RAM or changing hard drive, or adding a cardBus device?

i only had it a day when it did it :-(

i installed my internet software on it and did some updates on windows and norton internet security

and when i turned my internet connection off - im on dial up at the moment :0( it blue screened

and done the above

when it came back on after restarting it said it was checking the FAT32 file

it then started windows and said it had recovered from a serious error - error code 10000000a , parameter 1,etc

could you tell me - is this the notebooks fault or is it something i have done?

Which Windows are you running?

Download the latest drivers for your video and sound card. Most drivers that come on a cd are out of date. This is not a hardware problem so the shop will charge you the money for taking it apart checking it and putting it back together again.
