Auto File Namer

I realise this may be a big ask, but you never know i guess.

i have a large amount of ebooks (mostly PDFs, but some mobi etc) that have been through a computer problem which renamed them all as file 01, file 02 03 etc - up into the thousands

is there any way i can have them rename themselves - either back to their original names or based on the content or the title of them?

something that will do it it bulk or automatically - WITHOUT me having to go through and open each one and do it individually
