Whenever I try to find something on Ask Jeeves, I get tranferred after about 3 seconds to www.searchmeup.com

I am then given 20 results for a search for "javascript:void 0;"

My suspicious mind tells me I have a virus, but a complete virus check shows nothing.

Any help you can give a technophobe would be very much appreciated

If you can't find what you want with google, you certainly wont find it with ask jeeves, kick jeeves into touch use google, Voila!
no more problem.

Your suspicious mind is pretty close.

It's likely to be a varient of a pice of spyware called Cool Web Search.

These can be really nasty to get rid of but this is not a bad place to start:

Best of luck

If it is Cool Web Search, get yourself CWShredder. It's free. Also, have a look at this guys spyware removal tools.

Thanks for your help. Am trying to sort it out using Ad-aware, and suggestions you gave.

Kev100 - appreciate your replying, but it's a bit like the old Tommy Cooper joke :-

Tommy - Doctor, it hurts when I do this.

Doctor - Well don't do it!

Avoids the problem but doesn't cure it.
