first gen Nexus 7 playpad.ipad which ever it is called. I have bought one of these for my husband but he cannot find any instructions on how to get onto the internet.? Could someone help him please.? Many thanks Brendax
In portrait mode, swipe down the very top right of the screen where the time is displayed.
Tap on the wifi icon (it's on the left of the middle row).
Make sure wifi is switched on (on the top row in the middle it will either say 'on' or 'off'.
Tap the refresh icon next to that - it will search for available networks.
Tap your network, then tap 'connect'. Enter passphrase.
triiger, Many thanks.
hc4361,

Oh just one thing can he get the Jelly Beans android os for the 1st gen.?
In settings (swipe down top right) scroll right down to the bottom and tap 'about tablet'.
Under 'Android Version' mine says 4.3 which I know is Jelly Bean.
Ok I have had another look on the pad and have seen a page about uploading it to 4.3. the battery is low so having to charge it up first. sorry to ask you then find the answer myself only just looked at it. Can you delete photos ect once on plus email address.?
Hi again Hc, ok can you please tell me how I can delate last owners passwords and sign in info. I bought this one form someone who only used it for 3 months. but his info is still in it and he is away. I cannot put it back to factory settings because he has an expensive map download on it. many thanks.? Brenda
Hc. Many thanks again you are so helpful, do hope you don't mind. This is what was said about the maps application. All the maps on it are "slaved" from my main PC and functionality is through the Memory-Map Android Application (see desk top). You have (effectively) c.£300 of OS mapping on it, but please remember not to delete any maps or you will lose it.

Connect your Nexus to your pc/laptop and upload the maps (not the app) from the tablet.
Let me know when you've done that.
The problem is that if you register the Nexus to you, you won't be able to access the old apps registered to the seller. It will be two different user accounts.
My thoughts are that you should upload the maps to your pc, restore the Nexus to factory settings so you can register it to you with your email address etc.
Download the Maps app, then copy the maps from your pc to the Nexus.
Hope this makes sense.
It will also get rid of any problems/junk/unwanted downloads from the Nexus.
