Fake Call/sms Apps

Id like to get a fake call/sms app on my phone as ive heard they can be great fun for teasing people.. but i dont quite understand how these things work. I dont understand permissions etc. Does anybody know a good one (preferably free)and if so, do the fake messages/calls get logged anywhere apart from on ur phone?

Instead of getting an app, why don't you do the following:
Store your own number in your phonebook, but put your mum's name in. Then simply text your own number with whatever meesage you want and you'll receive a text and the sender will appear to be your mum. You can edit it at any time, so you can make it look like you've got a text from anyone.
Depending on what phone you've got, it might display the phone number of the sender as well, so if you're going to show the phone to anyone, don't let them see it for too long, as they may catch on :)
