And not a socket for a plug.

I have yet another gadget I *must* connect to my tv. It looks like a spaghetti mess down there and there is not a spare socket anywhere. Just how many plug adapters and extension leads can be connected to a double socket?
How do other people cope with it all?

I have: tv; tivo; dvd recorder; headphone base; telephone; wii; superhub; NAS; slingbox that all have to be connected in the vicinity of the tv.

I'm sure other people have much more. Any advice?

Can you not daisy-chain some of those into each other?

This is a mains socket you are on about I take it ?

Make sure the combined current from all you plugged in doesn't exceed 13 Amp.

Don't you want to run the CCTV into the Tivo or other recording device, or is it a recorder you're plugging in?

It's a recorder that needs to be plugged in to the mains and the superhub.

Surge protected, and also with an equipment guarantee.

Even if you chained them, the whole lot is still protected by a 13A fuse at the head of the chain. I doubt if even your set-up would get anywhere near 13A anyway.

Being really picky ........... chaining several adaptors one into another, isn't a great idea. The connectors in the ordinary 4-way cheap ones are fairly crude. Any instability could result in the Earth path being broken all the way down the line.......... potentially unsafe.

Why not do what I did when faced with same issue.
Phone qualified electrician and pay £80 inc parts for two extra double sockets on wall. Job done.
Of course you always daisy chain and hope for the best. But first buya smoke detector to warn of those small electrical fires in the night
