Dog Ear

Okay, we know its a bad habit.

But, seriously ... we ALL dog ear paperbacks to mark our place, don't we?

I gave blood a few days ago, and took a book to read, obviously, and the girl who was connecting me had a RIGHT go at me for dog earing the page.

I mean, you don't argue with someone who's holding a needle in your arm, but ... well, I mean, crikey ... and it was MY book, after all.

No one puts a book mark in a paperback, do they ?

I do - I`ve got a raggedly old fabric one that I bought in Abu Dhabi about 10 years ago and it`s still going strong.

No. My mum used to tell me off for that, but bookmarks fall out, get lost, etc. My paperbacks are usually quite battered, but it's part of their charm :-)

I like my books, I never dog-ear them. I memorise the the page number.

Let's face it JJ you are not going to able to get much when you sell your old books on Amazon if they are dog eared (and blood spattered!)

I'm a bookmarker; be it scraps of paper, till receipts or post it notes.

A hotel I visit slips bookmarks into my stack of books I have by the bed!

My kids all use bookmarks, who wants to read a scrunched up book? Probably something I would get cross about, and I don't get cross as a rule (and don't you dare crack the spine of the book).

I have so many books that they fill the conservatory, part of the living room, two book shelves on the landing, a bookshelf in one bedroom, boxes in the loft and even some in the garage. There comes a limit!

Well, to be honest society, I only have one book on voodoo.

And it's not strictly "on" voodoo.

It's called Voodoo Tales - The Ghost Stories Of Henry S Whitehead.

But I do have a Baron Samedi black top hat.

Well, I say top hat. I suppose if you were being picky, you'd say it was a straw boater. But I think the principle is the same.

I always send a hand made bookmark in my xmas cards to folks, I make them throughout the year.
