Hi, does anybody have any idea why it is that in the past couple of months, every time I go on facebook, it seems to lock up my machine for forever? There's obviously something going on, I'm guessing it's just that fb has become very busy, but I can wait as long as ten minutes just to scroll down the page for goodness sake.

I'm using an eight year old Dell desktop, Windows XP and IE8. In case it's important, my security provider is McAfee, as part of bt Net Protect.

I've had the same problem, SeaJay - not every time, which is odd. When I click on the link for FB the page comes up but then just locks everything up for a few minutes, until it clears and I can sign in. Dunno what it is. I'm on IE9 with Norton.
^ and it doesn't happen with any other of the sites I visit every day, which is even more odd, IMO.

You're right Boxtops, it doesn't happen anywhere else to me, either. It has to be what fender suggests, there's so much on fb these days that it's just huge.
