No Sound

The sound has disappeared from our laptop, although all the indicaters say it is on, it used to disappear before , but would then come back on for no reason, but no dseems to have gone for good, does any body have any ideas. laptop is about 6 years old.

Thank you Alex_Higham for your advice, found that site you gave was very good, unfortunately we are still without sound, have tried everything, perhaps lap top is on its way out.

What make and model Laptop do you have and what Windows Operating System. It could be that you need to up-date the Audio Drivers and this is possible with free downloads from manufacturers.
