Banning Someone From Facebook

Can one ban a particular person from contacting or sending messages via the chat to them on Facebook?

Thank you,have looked on Facebook and found the answer in Help there.
I myself do not use the site ...think it causes too much trouble...only with an alias for genealogy reasons.

Sorry, kloofneck but why do people think that FB causes too much trouble. It is whatever you want it to be.
If there are people who want to use it to cause trouble and be horrible, it Does give them a platform to do it. However, quite frankly, there are millions of people like me who are sane and well mannered who use it to see photos of family from around the world and keep up with friends.
