Getting The Internet On
4 Answers
Hi. I want a cheap basic package for my internet, nothing fancy/superfast - just simple stuff. I have a phone line which is unconnected, and was thinking of getting my internet provided by Sky as it seems fairly cheap and I already subscribe to them for a basic monthly package anyway. I was just wondering what BT would charge for basic line rental; I don't want to use the phone, I have a great deal with a contract mobile. Had both internet/phone with BT yrs ago and it was batty every quarter!

That was an advert, meg (before it was pulled!)
We're with BT for everything - the package includes landline (which we barely use), internet, BT vision TV. Very pleased with it. We're not interested in SKY, you can get nearly all the channels on the BT Vision enhanced packages for about seven quid extra a month these days.
Difficult to quote to you as there are so many options available via BT based on your proposed usage and packages.

Thanks Boxtops, a friend of mine has BT Vision, they also very happy with it, but unfortunately the box they provide is really bad for the subtitles which I absolutely have to have, and their films don't have them at all :-(. The box is ok at first, but once the subs have been on for an hour or so, they start getting really flakey - this never happens with Sky, only unless the Subtitlers have messed up!
