Website promotion?

I want to submit my website to all the search engines and get high ranks, what the cheapest way to do it? I know google do an add click sponser scheme but its quite pricey.

most people use google. to get a high ranking, just get a lot of people to link to your site, or search for keywords to do with your site, and then click on your site from the search results. doing things like this will cause google to boost your ranking, and its free!

basically, if you type in "BBC news", it'll almost certainly list the bbc news site as the top ranking. this is because most people when linking to them with the words "BBC News" will link to that site, not some other site.

fo3nix is right, I have never paid for my website to be entered into any search engines but it is ranked #1 in google search.  This is just from people visiting it a lot and searching for it.  The google bot picks it up eventually!

Submitting your site to all search engines won't get you high rank. Search Engine Optimization has to be done to get more traffic and there by high rank. For the your website should be submitted in directories. You can hire a SEO company to do this (as I do through http://www.submitinme.com). The pricing is quite affordable too.
