Trying To Check Inkjet Levels

Have had no problem in the past----
Click bottom left (start etc)
Click on Programmes
Move curser up to Hewllett Packard
Click to obtain options (eg. view ink levels)
Small blue circle just revolves for ever!!!

Any ideas please?

Switch of printer and unplug usb cable, wait 30 secs. Switch on printer and plug usb back in.

If no joy, have a look under Control Panel/Devices and Printers, Your printer should show there as either 'online' or have a green tick above it. If not there re-start your pc.

If after all of that you might need to re-install the printer drivers, go to HP's website and download the latest ones, bearing in mind your Windows O/S version.

Many thanks---but I have checked under "devices" and there is a green tick!
What I didn't mention in my original query, was that the curser wont respond to any progrmme on the list!!!

Getting a bit nearer---I restarted PC and cursor allowed me to click on Hewlett Packard-- move across to"Print screen"--then move across again for 2 more options :-configuration or uninstall.---Still no "view ink levels" !!!
