Internet Connection Problems

i keep losing the connection between the computer and router. this is happening every 5--10 minutes, it only lasts a few seconds then reconects, but i have to reload the websites/pages i am viewing. is there any way i can check whether it is the router or computer, i'm connecting wirelessly with about 15 feet separation (same room no walls) i did think of trying ethernet cable but if this cures it, i wont be any wiser to where problem lies.by the time i've got mobile unlocked to see if wifi is connected all is back to normal using ethernet cable permanently is not really an option due to room layout.

Have you tried resetting your router? Usually works for us, when it's playing up and making sure all wires are in properly.

Sounds like a router problem to me, contact your suppliers help line, they should be able to tell you what the problem is fairly quickly.

Ensure that your adapter has the correct IP Address of the Gateway (router) and that your computer is using that address as the DHCP server. This will force the connection regardless. You can amend the Adapter settings under Network Connections "properties" of course.

We had this problem for the first time yesterday . The wifi connection kept going down on my laptop every few minutes . My granddaughter had problems with her tablet and my son's internet on his phone slowed down.Everything is ok now.Like you I am about 15 feet away from the router

We had this a while ago, my son changed the channel on the router and (touch wood), everything has been fine.

1) Try re-setting the router.
2) Fit a new filter between the phone socket and your router - that cured the same problem for us.
