Have you been telephoned and invited to change your mobile phone contract or broadband service recently?

I was. Earlier this week. By BT. I declined, since their are technical reasons why I can't receive the kind of speeds they're trying to sell me.

If you saw BBC Breakfast this morning, you'll have seen the guy from Moneybox explaining that there is a poorly-publicised rule change, happening in just a few days' time.

If you switch today then the old rules will apply for the duration of the new contract and the newly-won entitlement to walk away from a contract if they increase prices, or reduce data or minutes allowances (effective price increases) will not apply.

But I see your link says the new rules come into effect today.

Okay, I guess I was complaining about the fact that BT called me up trying to encourage me to switch -on the day- earlier this week. Sharp practice.

What I really don't understand is whether the Moneybox person was appearing on TV to warn or merely to inform us that there had been a rule change.

Evidently it was just information as they could have warned people well in advance.

Hi hypognosis, referring to my prev question on savings, can you tell me which bank you use that offers the auto switching method. Thanks... Dagman
