We had a power cut this morning and our net went down. Now my iPad says 'the mail server imap.gmail.com' is not responding. Verify that you have entered the correct info into mail settings' - problem is I don't know what I am looking for in settings! Help!!!
I assume you are using the Mail app. It a common fault - Apple have a page on how to fix it.
The first option didn't work on my brothers ipad, the second did - delete the account in Settings and recreate it.
Just go to setting, click on Mail and Contacts, delete the account then recreate it by going to Mail, choose Google, enter your name, email address and password
