yesterday I posted re a phone scam and was reassured by some kind C/Bers, today I went to the bank and they reassure me all was okay too.
I used my mobile earlier to today I received a call from a friend and the sent two texts then a bit later the screen went weird there was a picture on it that looked like weird scrolls on the screen and then the screen went blank, went into the local mobile shop who said it looked like the phone had been dropped, but it has been in my pocket all morning. Now screen is completely dead, is it a coincidence as I am having an expensive run of bad luck lately or have the scammers done something ? shop tried to sell me a new phone of course !

sounds like a coincidence to me. If scammers have found some way of destroying the phones of people they call up, James Bond would be interested to hear about it!
I agree with jno, just a coincidence. Is the phone old?
Paranoid.

I have had the phone about 3to 4 years, its not a modern one as I like big numbers because I have long nails and cant work some phones.
Perhaps peoples can help me with another quandary, I have an LG phone, pay as you go and pay orange £10 a month top up, as I am elderly, a flip top DORO would suit me and Tesco is offering on and £7.50 per month with 250 mins and I don't use it hardly at all and 5000 texts or £39.99 to buy and then pay for calls, which would suit my pocket best ?
The last one seems the best option if you hardly use the phone - just buy the phone and a card with say £10 on it, then top up when you've used it. You do have to use the phone about once a month though - my MIL hardly ever uses hers, and the credit runs out if you don't use it.

also boxtops with Orange unless you top up every month by £10 which I did yesterday you do not get free texts anymore and I do text rather than call people, so I am thinking that maybe the Tesco option of £7.50 a month might be a better idea, that's why I am asking for some advice.
I'm with Virgin pay as you go, no top-ups and my bill last month (which I pay by DD) was 30p.
